This project was an assignment for my Visual Communications class with Ernesto Aparicio at Northeastern in the 2015 fall semester.
We were given a list of Christopher Alexander’s 15 elements of style, as presented in his book seriesĀ The Nature of Order. Each topic had a brief summary to be used as a subheading, and we were asked to write a short summary of the concept and find images to represent each element. These pieces were to be compiled into a final project of any format. I chose to work with a book layout, and used the assignment to practice composing text, understanding layout and hierarchy, and typesetting.
